Research Honors
Professor Kilcup has been awarded Andrew W. Mellon and National Endowment for the Humanities fellowships as well as the Dorothy M. Healy Visiting Professorship in Maine, the Edna and Jordan Davidson Eminent Scholar Chair in the Humanities in Miami, and the Chair of American Literatures at the Universität Bern in Switzerland for the study of American literature and culture. She has obtained more than $250,000 of external funding to sponsor her individual research.
In addition to her external recognition, Kilcup has been awarded numerous internal grants and fellowships at her various institutions, including Major Faculty Research Grants, Summer Research Excellence Awards, and the university-wide Senior Research Excellence Award. At her home institution UNCG she was named the Linda Arnold Carlisle Distinguished Excellence Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies. Most recently, she has been named the Elizabeth Rosenthal Excellence Professor of English, Environmental & Sustainability Studies, and Women’s & Gender Studies.
Teaching Honors
Kilcup has been named a U.S. national Distinguished Teacher by The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars and the National Education Association.
